Code of Conduct

AI Foundry Chester is built on trust, respect, and honest conversation. These guidelines ensure the room stays valuable for everyone.

AI Foundry Chester is a private group for people actively building with AI. The value of this community depends on trust, honesty, and meaningful participation. These guidelines exist to protect that.

Core Principles

Be Honest
Speak candidly about your work. If something failed, say so. If you’re unsure, say so. This is not a space for polished narratives or posturing — it’s for real experiences and useful insight.

Be Respectful
Engage with ideas, not individuals. Disagree directly, but do so constructively. Challenge assumptions, not competence. Ask questions to understand, not to undermine.

Be Present
Participate actively in the session. Engage with what’s being shared. Ask thoughtful questions. Contribute where you can. Avoid distractions — this is a working session, not a passive event.

Be Discreet
Respect the confidentiality of the room. You may share general insights, but not identifiable details, without explicit permission. This includes unfinished work, company-specific information, and personal stories shared by others.

Be Inclusive
We welcome builders of all backgrounds and experience levels. Everyone should feel able to contribute, ask questions, and take part without intimidation or dismissal.

Unacceptable Behavior

The following is not permitted under any circumstances:

Harassment
Offensive or inappropriate comments related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, appearance, race, religion, or any other personal characteristic. This includes unwelcome sexual attention or inappropriate physical contact.

Disruptive Conduct
Aggressive, dismissive, or exclusionary behavior. This includes talking over others, repeated interruption, or dismissing questions as “basic” or “obvious.”

Commercial Solicitation
Using the group to sell, promote, recruit, or generate leads. Members are here to build and learn, not to be pitched to. Sponsors operate under separate, explicit agreements.

Breach of Confidentiality
Sharing content from sessions without permission. This includes photos, recordings, detailed notes, or any identifiable information about work presented by others.

Enforcement

We take this code of conduct seriously and will act when it is violated.

Depending on the situation, actions may include:

  • A private conversation to clarify expectations
  • A formal warning
  • Removal from the current session
  • Permanent removal from the group

Repeated or severe violations will result in removal without further warning.

Reporting

If you experience or witness behavior that violates this code of conduct, please report it.

You can:

  • Speak to an organizer in person at any session
  • Contact us privately via the contact form

All reports will be handled with discretion. Your identity will not be shared without your permission unless required by law.

Scope

This code of conduct applies to:

  • All AI Foundry Chester events
  • Online spaces and discussions
  • Any communication connected to the group

Questions

If you are unsure whether something is appropriate, ask. It’s better to clarify expectations early than to repair trust later.
